The Basics

My name is Neil Williams. I currently live in Sunnyvale, CA. I work as a software engineer in Santa Clara, but this is my personal blog and has no affiliation with my employer. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz in June 2008 with a BS in Computer Science.

I started programming with some web development in 1998 doing simple HTML and CSS and have worked on many other things since then, I have always loved the web and I believe strongly in web standards and accessibility and try to keep them in mind at all times when doing web development.

In general, I like to program and so that’s what this site is all about.

What does spladug mean?

I honestly have no idea what spladug means, it’s a word I made up many years ago for some reason lost to the mysteries of time. I’ve had the domain name spladug.net since late 2001 and can’t bring myself to abandon it now.
